InterReligious Task Force on Central America
Sarah Sommers came to the InterReligious Task Force staff in 2007. Before joining IRTF, Sarah worked from 2004 to 2007 for InterAct Cleveland, an interreligious organization that brings together people of different faiths for service, dialogue, and action. There she organized the annual Homeless Stand Down, Cleveland’s annual homeless service and social fair, coordinated monthly community meals through-out the east side of Cleveland, taught Just Neighbors, a course in the root causes of poverty, to local congregations and community groups, and much more.
In Cleveland, Sarah is active in the Ensemble of Federated Church in Chagrin Falls, of which she is a member, as well as a coordinator of the Interfaith Hospitality Network at Federated Church.
A native of Aurora, Ohio, Sarah holds a B.A. in international studies and French from Ohio Wesleyan University, with a concentration in African studies.
