Poor People's Campaign Mass Rally in Washington, D.C.

Saturday, June 23, 2018
10 A.M.
National Mall, 7th Street Stage, Washington, D.C.

The National Poor People's Campaign has launched their 40 Days of Moral Action across the country. They are calling attention to the issues that marginalized individuals face in our country by engaging in highly publicized, non-violent moral fusion direct action, over a 6-week period in at least 30 states and the District of Columbia. Between May 13, and June 23, the Campaign is forcing serious national examination of the enmeshed evils of systemic racism, systemic poverty, ecological devastation and the war economy during a key election year while strengthening connection informed and committed grassroots leadership in every state.

Throughout these 40 days of Moral Action, the Campaign will push forward a concretemoral agenda, and draw on art, music, popular education and religious traditions to challenge the nation’s distorted moral narrative.

This event is the culmination of all six weeks in Washington, D.C. Above is a flyer with more details for the event. We will be carpooling from the IRTF office at 2 A.M. to travel to D.C. on June 23. We are planning on returning by 12 A.M. on June 24. Contact irtf@irtfcleveland.org for more information.
