Keynote Speaker:
Raechel Anne Jolie (she/they) Assistant Professor of Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies, Oberlin College, Ohio Dr. Jolie’s work focuses on social movements, critical and intersectional approaches to gender and sexuality, and media. She earned a PhD in critical media studies, with a minor in feminist & critical sexuality studies at the University of Minnesota. Their critically acclaimed book, Rust Belt Femme, was named one of NPR's "Best Books of 2020." Raechel is the editor and co-creator of The Prison Arcana tarot zine, made in collaboration with c.l. young and Jamie Diaz, two incarcerated artists. Jolie has worked inside of prisons and jails leading writing workshops and teaching yoga. She was also a member of Black & Pink (the LGBTQ prison support organization) and the Massachusetts Bail Fund. She currently teaches a course on prison abolition and transformative justice at Oberlin College.
